Default 1928 sedan body block mounting

When installing new body blocks on my car are you supposed to put a rubber pad on each side of the blocks?

Thanks
David

Only where the block comes in contact with the frame or the splash apron.

There is more to the story though...If your "1928 sedan" is a Tudor Sedan, then please take notice of the long body mounting block that the front seats are attached to.

This block not only takes the rubber pads on the bottom, BUT it also takes four frame anti-squeak pads where the four holes are which the seat bolts go through.

These "pads" are on top of the wood block that come in contact with the body and they are nailed to the block thus centering the hole.

I have a photo if there is someone on here for whom I can send it to by email so it can be place here...anyone?

Ok. I'm just wondering because the pad kit I received has 4 of the big pads that go on the wood underneath the cowl. You can email me the picture. [email protected]

Not a Tudor? Wood subframe frame on the body? You will have to use rubber under each of the body to frame bolts locations; under the subframe and on top of the frame - splash aprons. These are used to align the body for hood and door fits. Rubber should have a fiber reinforcement in the middle with somewhat hard rubber. If you live in an ag.or industrial area, try conveyor belt matl. Delta Rubber co. is a possible source. Check on a recent post about the pads and their thickness. Use the advanced search function. Also search Marco T. for align doors.

I found an excellent rubber body pad material from MSC Industrial Supply that worked great on my '29 Briggs Fordor. It is an industrial (reinforced) neoprene gasket material and comes in various thicknesses. The part number for 3/16" material is 31937295. Hope this helps.
