Default Training to Denver for MAFCA national?

Is anybody from Northern Californa, Oregon, Nevada or Washington taking Amtrak to arrive in Denver on 6/18?

This link will provide shuttle service from DIA to Fort Collins (adjacent city to Loveland). The Limos will provide Door-to-Door service to many different locations, Shuttles, maybe not.

I have not experience with any their services, but this information may help.

Good Luck, and see you in Loveland.

Also, only a few blocks from the downtown Train station, their are rental car companies. Rent a car, drive to Loveland and all around Colorado.

I highly recommend visiting Bert's if you are in Denver! Steve's a great guy and his parts and cars are a delight to look at.

A word of caution. I have been refused taxi service from the AMTRAK RR station to rental car locations because it was not a big fare. You need to arrange for the rental people to pick you up unless you want to lug all your stuff yourself.

My friends Ron and Mary Tribbit from the Hangtown A's are taking the train. Look them up in the national roster.

Would love to attend but getting the time off of work is impossible (I work Sat-Monday). Could ride the flats from here to Cheyene and hitchhike south from there. That would be the only transportation by train from here. Rod

We are also taking the train to Denver and arriving on the 18th. Denver is opening a new train line to the airport I believe this month with a fare of $4-5 if I recall right. It is about 100 ft. from the Amtrak facilities per the station attendant so easily accessible. Plenty of hotels at the airport plus car rental places are open 24 hrs. Downtown we found hotels were way higher and car rental places had limited hours or were not open on Sunday which was inconvenient for us.

Couldn't you get the company to throw your car on an empty autorack going that way and you could ride the rods?

You would think so, and if everything goes south with this tour, I will take the train back..
I even have my railroad brothers to switch out the autorack..
There is a joke that covers this, Why don't they ship solders on troop trains anymore? Their tour of duty would be over before they got to their destination...
