1960 Mercury Hubcap

1961 Mercury Hubcap

I am creating this thread directed to owners of full size 1960 and 1961 Mercurys.
My concern is that a lot of owners of these vehicles may have fitted the wrong year Hubcaps to their Mercury.
It amazes me when I read listings of these Mercury Hubcaps on ebay where advertisers have the years around the wrong way.
They either advertise a 1960 Mercury Hubcap as a 1961 model, or a 1961 Mercury Hubcap as a 1960 Mercury model.
Other Sellers show a 1960 or 1961 Mercury Hubcap and list it as 1960/1961.
It seems that these two model years of Mercury cause more confusion than any other models.
So, please check your Mercury to make sure that they have the correct year Hubcaps.

Notice that they show a 1961 Mercury Hubcap and call it 1960.
Meanwhile, for 1961, they leave it blank?

Here are the original wheel covers on my original '61 Monterey. Hope it helps. The car's in storage so I'm sending pics I took several years ago.

Thanks Jim for the confirmation. Your 1961 Mercury Monterey has the correct year hubcaps.
However, check eBay and you see that the majority of Sellers listings are incorrect for these two years, 1960 and 1961.

BTW, if anyone knows of a source for that missing driver side trim end piece seen (or not seen, actually) in the more close up of my two photos, please let me know. Doesn't have to be in perfect condition but should be presentable. Unfortunately, I don't think the Galaxie equivalent will work, which makes it much harder to find.
