Guys...I don't know which pitman arm was installed on my A. What is the correct dimension for a stock arm?

6 7/8" on original, 5 3/8" on the shortened one.

I have never owned a Model A that had or has a shortened pitman arm. I buy arms from the dealers that are built shorter. Have had no issues with any of the cars I have installed these on. As is pointed out, the stops come into play so the steering radius remain the same. I use the 1956 Ford pickup box and make sure it is in spects or rebuild it to spects before installing, With the two, the shorter arm and the 56 box the roadster is much like power steering. Heavier cars were also vastly improved, for me. Your results may vary.

I've used shortened pitman arms for years and wouldn't use anything else. It makes it easier for me to steer. I have one vehicle that doesn't have all that good front end and I don't notice any problems driving it. As for as the turning radius if it hits the stops left and right the turning radius is still the same.
