Thanks everyone, that gives me some great info on what I should do. I think I will try installing the trim afterwards, beings that is the way I believe it was made to be done. And I will try Napa's 4121 sealer after it is installed and dry.

I installed mine with D.C. seal. Instructions said" No sealant necessary". Leaked at the corners so I called them and they said "Did you use sealant on the seal"???

Use dish soap to install the stainless trim. It will wash off and not harm the rubber. I would be reluctant to use grease as stated in a previous post. Sometimes grease and some types of rubber do not mix well.
