Default '48 F1 rebuild

Howdy boys, I have my grandfathers '48 F1 that he bought new. Yeah! I drove it for a couple years after I got out of the Seabees, until it popped a valve seat ( I think). It has sat for about 35 years now. I plan on finally getting started on rebuilding it to stock. I have a couple questions if I may: Where is a "good" source to buy the parts I will need, other than Mac's (Ecklers) that I would rather not use? I'll need all the rubber, body blocks, water pump rebuild kits, etc. One other question, I also have a '37 V8 that I am contemplating building a speedster with. I'd like to use a truck 4 speed so I will have a "parade gear". What year trans. will marry up to a '37 V8 other than obviously, a '37? Thanks guys, always a joy reading your postings!
