59A-B heads
I bought a set of 59A-B heads at a auction sale Sat. They are in nice shape and want to clean them up and keep for the future. The spark plugs were still in the holes only a few treads. The rest of the treads are rusty. Is there a tap I could buy to chase/clean these treads. Also, what to use to remove the rust in the heads? Thanks Tom Z...

Re: 59A-B heads
There are many spark plug rethread tools around KD makes
several. DO NOT use a regular tap. With plenty of oil too. |

Re: 59A-B heads
Bring the head and the spark plug to NAPA and buy thread chasing tool. Neutralize the rust with OSPHO. Then clean with a small round wire brush.

You could bath them in rust911 or something similar to store. Last edited by Tinker; 04-22-2019 at 11:31 PM. |
