Default Bargain A's are Still Out There

Just found this on Craigslist in the Twin Cities:

Looks cheap to me.

I'd hardy call that cheap - why, that's 10 times the cost of when it was new ! Ofcourse, I suppose that inflation has caused the new sticker price of $380 to have climbed somewhat. So maybe it is a good deal after all. Still, let me know when you find a "band new' Ford Model A for $380. Perhaps you and I could split the cost between us.

Neat car, hope it finds the right owner. I noticed the drivers seat is back farther that passenger are all the tudors like this? I thought mine was moved back by someone through the years. Glad it was moved back ,i barely can get my foot on the brake with it in first gear, leg hits steering wheel and shifter.

No, look at the pivot leg on the driver's seat and you will see it has been modified.

Down in our hot, wet neck of the woods, here is what you can buy for $3000:

I hope an "A" person gets it before a hot, rat or crap rodder does!

Chances are that will sell to a traditional Hot Rodder. Bob

Numberology at work????? It even comes with a Classic License Plate with numbers 2838. A 28 Model A for 38 Hundred? I have a good feeling about this. Ha-Ha!

This one a "survivor." Not barn fresh (as it seems to have been used regularly up to the present day) but kept up somewhat.

You fooled me with that second interior shot above - the Craigslist posting shows a nice wear gash on the seat which to me indicates original upholstery.

Unfortunately, worn out upholstery increases the chance that this will be "rodded." The body style maybe not so much (Tudors are passé unless they're channeled and chopped - which is a LOT more work)

I hope for a well deserved rejuvenation and return to active service for this one.

Tom, I like the idea that you posted this Tudor ad. I think that we can all agree that it is a great deal. However, posting it on this site gives it a good chance of being snatched up by some Model Aer and not someone who will chop and channel it.

Now I'm not wanting to restart the hot rodder vs. restorer/original debate. I'm just glad that it has a better chance of going to someone who will keep it a Model A.

Great idea Tom.
Thanks.

Dang it Tom, now you've done it. I'm going worry and wonder about that car for a the next two weeks before it falls off my attention radar! If it wasn't 1800 miles from my house, it would be in my garage tomorrow. But it's just too far away to even consider retrieving as the snow begins to fall in the Rockies and upper plains. Please let us know if you learn its fate.
