36/37 glove box clock ??
Hello, I need a little help please . I have a glove box clock that I need to identify . The glove box is 36 of course , the clock face looks to be 37 but the back of a 37 clock that I looked up was a little different than this one . It had a larger round hole in between the smaller screw hole on the upper part of the mounting flange.. I think that was for a glove box lock . This one would no accept a lock as you see . Is this a later clock ?? or ??
Thanks , Mike |

Re: 36/37 glove box clock ??
The engine was rolled closer to the 36 last weekend All the holiday plus getting other things done for friends has gotten in the way of my projects . All self inflicted but I think I am done with all of that . I have a bunch of transmission parts coming to put something together for the 36 and then she is ready to put together . Hopefully by the end of Feb , she will be a driver for the first time in 35 years !!

Re: 36/37 glove box clock ??
I've seen one other like it and it was on a '36 GBox door as well. Maybe was used to retro a clock from '37 to a '36 or was intended for dealer install when no locking handle was previously installed.

Re: 36/37 glove box clock ??
The clock I have also seams like a larger dia than a 36 GB clock ? Can someone tell me the dia of a 36 clock ? This one is roughly 2 11/16" at the top and 2 3/4" around the bottom of the chrome face . The hole in the GB looks like a factory hole or someone did a very , very nice job of cutting it ???
Help ?? Anyone else ?? Last edited by 1932 V8; 12-27-2013 at 11:52 AM. |

Thanks for the help , this definitely looked big from what I could see in the pictures I have of 36 accessories . Does anyone have a pic of a 37 GB clock to compare ?

Re: 36/37 glove box clock ??
Thanks for the pictures and info Tom . I have come to the conclusion that I have a 37 clock that was modified . After I took a closer look after seeing Tom's I can see where the bracket on the bottom was cut off and the mounting on the top was cut shorter and modified to fit the 36 door . Who ever did this did a very nice job and the hole in the door is perfect . So , I still don't have a GB clock for my 36 but I have a 37 clock in a 35 door . Hmmmmmm . What do I do with that ?? I would assume that the dealer did not do this but I guess you never know . I would also assume a dealer would do anything back in the day to sell a part and keep a customer happy . Thanks for all the help everyone .
