Tell me what this is. Guessing 35 or 36
This would be a fun start for a woodie. This pic was about seven years ago. I saw it again last summer. It's quite overgrown now. Has front half of frame under it.

Right. I will say 36 as the hood emblem is towards the front rather than in the center of the side.

The grille doesn't look bad and the hood looks fairly good also. Headlights and horn also may be "savers".

Surely the fenders are worth more than than $100.00, unless they are big truck and different than PU, but still $100.00 is way low.

Re: Tell me what this is. Guessing 35 or 36
Lawson,
They are big truck, and the back of the fender behind the tire is gone. The bolting flange to the grille and inner fender are likely rotted off also based on the damage to the grille. There would be some salvage value in the bead edge to repair another fender. My pricing guesstamate is based on one shot at a specific large swap meet, and not taking anything home so is perhaps lower than working hard with epay or multiple meets. |

Seven years worth of moisture on Orcas or one of the other San Juan Islands certainly did not improve the condition of the parts. Note that the back of the left fender is resting in/on the dirt. By now that part of that fender has evaporated.

Re: Tell me what this is. Guessing 35 or 36
Karl & David, you are both probably correct. I did not notice just how deep in the dirt the running board end of the fender seems to be, nor how bad the fender was where it attaches to the inner fender and grill. The old eyes and brain are playing a lot of tricks on me nowadays. I should have studied the pictures a little more closely before commenting. My bad.

Re: Tell me what this is. Guessing 35 or 36
When I looked for it last summer it was burried in what is now a thick grove of hedges, so it probably stayed damp even on sunny days. The reality is that with the time away from shop work for our new breed of 'Warrior Class Yuppies', parting it out would not pencil out. Ferry fare alone at 225.00 round trip towing a car trailer is a killer. Perhaps just posting the artsy photo was enough. It's in Mt Vernon Wa. PM me if you want location. Haven't talked to owner yet.

Re: Tell me what this is. Guessing 35 or 36
GB,
There is a fella in our community who takes old rusty vehicles and makes them into “stuff” As a fellow woodworker this may be of interest. This fella started out making “tree houses” and has expanded his creations to some pretty impressive structures in size and detail. I thought of such a creation when you posted the picture of the 36 truck. Maybe some ideas for your next project in his gallery of photos :-) T. https://danielswoodland.com/shooting...ack/index.html

Re: Tell me what this is. Guessing 35 or 36
Tim, I didn't expect that to be sooo cool! What we need on this island MOST is housing for summer workers. All of the establishments are woefully under staffed in the summer. Of course outbuildings scattered around is very much frowned upon by the county, but 'portable stuff is still ok.... Perhaps a '36 1 1/2 ton schoolbus/woodie bus with this nose attached would fit the bill. Of course the big $ would be to advertise to those tourists wanting a funky/hip Orcas experience, but there lies the whole housing dilemma. I tried to peel some of your friends creations off and post them here but they wouldn't come loose. Anyone?

I don’t know him personally but I answered my doorbell a few years ago, & was greeted by Daniel asking if my 1950 F1 (Mater) was for sale.
I went on to finish it rather than have people shoot at it. :-)
