Leaf Tour In The Merc
Got some video put together from a couple of days ago when I took the Merc on a "leaf tour" . The scenery was as good as I've seen it in a long while so figured I better take advantage because it won't last long once the winds get strong and take the leaves away.
So down the 2 lane blacktop and through the woods to Grandpa's house on Gopro and drone video. Scenery was great but I kind of rushed through some late night editing to get it posted at youtube. https://youtu.be/mE5QzXoXkbo

I took a "then and now" photo while I had the Merc at Grandpa's farm. That was my uncle's 53 Pontiac in the foreground of the 1961 photo. My dad's Merc in the background. Unfortunately the Pontiac is long gone but the same old Merc sits posed on the same spot for this week's photo.

Thanks Ralph, very enjoyable. Love the wide open spaces. As a "townie" from the UK I really appreciate that. If you ever visited my place you would feel claustrophobic.

That's beautiful country where you live. Reminds me very much of where I grew up in Kansas. Thanks for sharing.

Re: Leaf Tour In The Merc
Thanks Mart. You can just imagine how my Grandpa felt coming from Lexden, Essex, U.K. in the early 1900s to this big open country. And it was a lot more open and empty then than it is now.

Ralph: thanks for the video, I was looking for deer, but didn't see any, I sure you have plenty up there. Early bow season is already open up north of me.

Re: Leaf Tour In The Merc
Ralph, Thanks so very much for another great ride-along movie! Had to watch it a second time, which is when I realized you had the camera on the car roof which is a great vantage point. I thought I might get another look out of your windshield, which I think is fabulous with the several stone chips. Again, great share!
Off topic, but what do you do to get your internet connection?

Re: Leaf Tour In The Merc
The drone literally flies itself once I set it on the "follow" mode. And it does a good job as you can see.
I had the Gopro camera clamped to the external sun visor for the "over the hood " view as I could not find a good location inside the car and did not have my suction cup camera mount with me. I did not want to be doing the hand held camera thing out on the busy highway. Internet service out in the sticks is by Sask tel wireless signal right off the cell tower. Corvette8n, you did not see deer but I can tell you they are out there. Had a moose cross the road ahead of me when I was out with the Merc yesterday evening.
