Default 32 Ford gage panel tunnel.

Can any one tell me the difference between a 32 car & a 32 pickup or truck
gauge panel tunnel that goes from the dash
to the fire wall?
Thanks Dave.

Hi the commercial tunnel has a 'crook' in it as it approaches the dash. Newc

The pickup tunnel is shorter, but I do not have one to measure. The flanges on the passenger tunnel are not parallel to the gauge panel, but with the panel resting flat on the bench and measuring the height to the center hole of the flange where it bolts to the firewall I get 9 3/4".

Perhaps a different term than tunnel may be helpful. The semi-circular brackets or arms between the instrument panel and the firewall are straight front to back on the passenger car panel and have a dog leg in them near the panel on the shorter commercial/truck versions.

You cannot go by the finish of the instrument panel itself as very early four-cylinder passenger car panels were painted black and late commercial/truck panels were plated with an engine-turned finish like the vast majority of passenger cars.

I stand corrected, just by looking at Randy's photo above. I went and pulled a "tunnel" assembly that has the engine turned panel from my stash of parts in the attic over the garage and clearly it is the shorter pickup part.
