Default Timing for B Head and Carb.

The 1929 Sport Coupe I recently acquired has a B head (on a model A block) and B carburetor. I recently timed it using Les Andrew's procedure. The car seems to run OK. However, I have no basis for comparison as this is the only Model A I've ever owned.

Is the timing setup different for a car with a higher compression head and a B carb.?

Thanks for any guidance you can give me here.

When you say B head do you mean a Model A head with a B on it
or a Model B head with the three bolt water pump?

Hi With Hi Compression heads I have set the timing the same to start with and adjusted as necessary normally the higher the compression the less ignition advance due to faster flame travel

The head has a C on it which I've come to understand is referred to as a B head.

That head does not have much more compression than a stock A head.

Sounds like the car should be timed the same as one with a stock engine, and perhaps driven with slightly less spark advance.

Thanks gents.
