Default Starter plate ID help

I thought I had the plates figured out until I got this one this week! I thought it was for the big truck oil pan with the clean out, but I have a NOS one that I compared to, and it has threaded holes that are vertical and this plate bolts horizontal. The black one I just put on because there have been questions lately about the dust shield. It is the 48-52 pickup version. Thanks for your help,Dale

I'd have to look at the Merc pan on my p/u But I believe the plate with the horizontal mounting holes is from a Merc while other plate is from a truck. But as usual I could be wrong. There is a link here or on the HAMB with photos of different bell housings and starter plates that will help. Not sure if I have the link but I'll look for it.

The heavy metal bracket is spot welded on where the mercury is a separate bolt on bracket. Also notice that it has two threaded nuts on it where all the others use bolts with nuts. thanks for your efforts, Dale.

Anyone? I can drill the spot welds and use it but if it was something hard to find I didn't want to alter it. Thanks, Dale.
