Default charging system guage not moving

I am updating the electrical system on my 1949 ford f1 to 12 volt neg ground
the gen has been converted to 12 volt the coil is 12 volt internal bal
runtz on all gauges added a fuse box 12 volt regulator single pol original starter solenoid I ran the wires that were that were connected from the original
resister from the A post thru the amp gauge
the eng starts fuel temp and oil gauges are all working the charging system is at 13.5 + but the charging system gauge is not moving any suggestions out there as to why
