36 temp gauge replacement
I'm swapping out my 41 motor to a fresh built french block motor. The original temp gauge fitting is firmly stuck in the old head and attempts at removal have resulted in rounding off the flats on the fitting. Even vise grips won't budge the thing. I'm assuming I'll need to cut the wire that runs to the temp gauge. Is the probe bulb replaceable by a gauge restorer? Searches for a replacement gauge assembly haven't been very fruitful.
Any assistance will be greatly appreciated. |

Re: 36 temp gauge replacement
To bad you didn't have a tubing wrench. Yes line to the gauge can be repaired . Williamson's in AS or Wolf & Co in OH.

Re: 36 temp gauge replacement
Are you using a '36 temp gauge with the capillary tube encased in a wire winding ?
If so the Wolf man is your guy. He did my '36 temp gage....primo....not quick or cheap but 100% right. Charlie ny |

Re: 36 temp gauge replacement
I did use a tubing wrench and the flats just gave way. Then the vise grip spun it into a round. The hollow bolt that seats the probe is screwed all the way down to the shoulder and didn't offer much surface to achieve purchase with either the wrench or the plier.
I need the Wolf man contact info please. |
