Default Model A Engine Swreial number

I have a 1930 Fordor with Engine # RF7428. Does anyone know what the RF in the serial number means?

Look closely to see if the number rising has been ground down a bit. This could be a local rebuild shop's number.

I thought "RF" meant Real Ford", not one of these plastic jobs you buy today.

It's possible the RF might be AF. I've mistaken a rusty stamped A for R before on an oil seal number. Could happen.
