1936 ford headlight/horn rod.
How is the rod fixed to the pot metal horn button assembly on top? I'm planning on shortning one and it is tempting to do it in horn button end. Thanks.

It is somehow attached to the pot metal, "crimped over"? I doubt it can be done, but I have never tried it.

Re: 1936 ford headlight/horn rod.
I can honestly say the dog did it. I had a 36 horn rod with as nice and straight rod as you will ever see leaning against the wall in my shop. My dainty little 190 pound (86kg) dog ran into it and the rod snapped off from the horn rod when it fell. The rod is still nice and straight, but I do not see a good way to reattach it and still have continuity. If you are going to shorten one and still want to have continuity, I see no easy solution.
