Question Question About Top Welting:

Hey All,

I'm about to replace my top welting and was wondering which people prefer, split type Hidem welt A-47305, or the wire on welting type A-47304?

I ordered the Hidem type but was shipped the wire type. They reshipped with the Hidem type but now I'm unsure which one I should use for an early 31 Tudor which I removed the Hidem welting it already had.

Regards
Bill

I thought 31 tudors used 2 piece metal trim around the roof, not hidem.

They do, but I don't think anyone make them anymore.

I have a 30 tudor which our club members helped redo the top. It's no show car so I went with the hidem and it worked out very well with the installation and looks. We used latex sealer, 3/4 inch tacks and made sure the wood we nailed into was solid. This was done about 10 years ago and it's holding up just fine. The car is stored outside under a good car cover in California, so rain and bitter cold isn't much of a problem. I'm more concerned about sun damage but like I said, it's holding up.
