Default 37 Sedan rear fender attachment

I have a pair of Wescott rear fenders to use on my 37 Humpback. I don't see any washer kits listed anywhere for 1937, only35-36 and 39-40. Should I use the 39-40? I figure glass fenders definitely need the rubber to prevent splits.
How where originals mounted, w/o washers?

I am pretty sure large washers were used to attach the rear fenders on a 1937 touring sedan, my coupe has them. Call Michael at Third Gen Automotive, he will have a kit.

The 1940 washer kits will not hurt, though in a couple of places the washers might be too big. Our experience is that the oversized fender washers are too soft, and when tightened down distort enough so there is actually more force exerted on the fender than with a more standard washer.

What we recommend is to use hardened 5/18 USS washers. They will spread the bolt force across the whole washer area, not just next to the bolt. Also, open the holes in the fender to about 1/2" so the fender has wiggle room for adjustment and to avoid lateral stress on the side of a bolt hole.

Cool, I didn't make the connection. Guess I read the message and didn't pay attention to who the reply came from. Thanks for bringing it to my attention.
