Default clutch pressure plate problem

I'm working with used parts that are in good condition. I have installed two different pressure plates that the fingers collapse and do not return when the throw out bearing presses on them. Once I remove the pressure plate from the fly wheel it returns to normal. Everything else seems to be normal. Need help.

With the pressure plate installed over a good disc the fingers should all be even and 11/16" below the surface. Are you installing it in the car, and then removing it again, or how are you pressing the fingers down?

The shallow side of the disc hub goes against the flywheel.

BTW, as you can see, I like to grease all moving parts.

Got the disk in the right way? There's a front and back to them.

And for all the trouble involved with this operation, I wouldn't fuss with used parts.
