So sorry to hear of your loss, Mr. Stipe.

Hoping you can take comfort in having the special relationship you experienced with your father.

My condolences Bill. What a great mentor. How sad that our nation today is becoming a fatherless society. What will become of us when the heros and mentors are nomore. I am sure he was as proud of you as you are him. Continue to honor his memory by using your talents to promote the hobby.

I understand your loss, as out loved ones can never be replaced. Bill, may you find peace in the comfort of the time you were blessed with and the memories you shared while your dad was with you.

I too, share the condolences, thoughts and prayers of the rest of those who have posted. It pains me greatly that another from the greatest generation has left us. My grandparents would be about your dad's age. I miss them dearly, and wish I could go back to those cherished days when we shared simple conversation. Through these, my own eyes, ears and lips, I would look upon them fondly, burning every look and movement to my memory, hear more of what they said and bear witness to their wisdom, and utter all the things I wish I could ask them about their life, edifying them with respect, sweet conversation and kindness. These people, as well as your dear father were Renaissance men and women. They had many talents, interests, strengths, and ways of teaching to those interested. We are at a time similar to the last great men of the American Revolution, where we need to gather as much wisdom these great men and women had to offer. http://www.americanrevolution.org/lastmen.html

My deepest sympathy. I'm really touched to see how many of us cherish the memory of our late parents and try every day to live lives that would make them proud.

Sorry about your loss. It's hard when you dad is also your pal. My dad was also one of those guys that could fix anything, he was my go to guy. It took me a while after he passed to stop going for the phone when I needed help on a project. Dad (I called him paw) always had the answer. I now try to be that man for my son's and daughter.

I'm very sorry to hear about the loss of your dad. I lost my dad forty three years ago. My dad also survived WW2 and was in the red bull division under George Patton . He would have been 90 years old this December 31. Though I know that it doesn't make it any easier, You were lucky to have your dad for as long as you did. You will be in our thoughts and prayers.

Sorry to hear of your loss. It is a terrible thing to loose one's father. It sounds like he was a great guy, full of ambition, like yourself. I have my father to thank for my involvement with model A Fords, as that was his hobby and passion. He died in 1981, and I still miss him, and use him as an example of how to treat my kids. Our thoughts are with you.
