Re: The Victoria Coupe...
My 31 Victoria Steelback was unrestored and has an earlier body number, 28359, and a frame and engine number 4411908. It has a flat firewall. I believe that would be a early March engine with a March- April build. Is that correct? When would the body been assembled?

My Victoria has a body serial number of 28618 and I think that it was assembled in early May. My engine number is A4362440 and it was made 2/17/31. With your engine build date and body number, I would call your Vicky an early May car. Usually a car is considered to be built 2 to 3 months after the engine date. Bill

Any and all information that I have on my website concerning any aspect of the Model A Ford is for the use of anyone in their continous research about their car...feel free to use it any way you wish. There is a lot of valuable information out there that is more than likely kept from many of us which could provide that needed peice of the puzzel to add to our knowledge and history of the Model A/AA Ford...I know that for a fact! Marshall,
You hit the nail on the head about the unknowns. It would be fantastic if we had Murray's production records.

Re: The Victoria Coupe...
Marshall, are the rear fenders different on a steel back Vicky than a standard Tudor? I did not get fenders with mine and the wheel well looks deeper when I looked at it the other day?

Re: The Victoria Coupe...
Here is something interesting...according to the MONTHLY Assembly Record Types from 1930, Ford started to assemble the Victoria Coupe in October BUT only in a very small way. Dearborn assembled 22 cars and Chicago assembled 4.
However in November the total Victoria's that were assembled in the domestic USA plants were 1661 and Walkerville (Canada) assembled 45 and 10 were K.D. (knock-down) shipments. Pluck Last edited by Steve Plucker; 01-15-2017 at 11:29 PM. |

Re: The Victoria Coupe...
What Body parts were specific to the "leather-back" Victoria Coupes and NOT the "steel-back" Victoria Coupes?
BOB...You do not mention the Briggs Company...was the Briggs Company involved in the making of the Victoria Coupe or not? Thanks. Pluck Last edited by Steve Plucker; 01-18-2017 at 01:59 PM. |

Re: The Victoria Coupe...
There have been no confirmed Victorias made by Briggs.
As for the body, of course the rear of the car where there are holes to attach the leather back. The back wood is different also to accept these nails.

Re: The Victoria Coupe...
The inner spare tire bracket differs between the leatherback & the steelback models. The roof moldings, rain gutters and the fabric roof all differ of course.

Art, In my opinion yours is the best of both worlds... steelback and still has the flat firewall with inside fuel shutoff. The outside fuel shutoff is the only thing I probably won't like about my 68C when I get done. All the best on your body paint we talked about. Larry Shepard |

Re: The Victoria Coupe...
a lot of the top and rear body wood is different, on the leather back than the steel back.
Bill the rear fenders are the same on the Victoria as the sedans, two and four doors. four door Phaeton and A400. the 30`s up until March 31 will NOT have the dimple in the fender |
