Default Meet A1595727

Bought today at Epping Antique Auto Flea Market.

Blasted & primed - missing center crossmember (was scheduled for a "boxing" but the Owner decided to go a different way.) And one can still read the May 1929 numbers.

Nice & stiff & straight. Not twisted a bit. Pick up opposite corners and shake and NO movement. Was in a minor front end accident (one of the frame horns show a weld repair which appears nicely done.)

And - best part of all - $100.

Yes, a minor gloat - now I have to find a crossmember and bring it back together. I think I have some engine mounts somewhere.

I have crossmembers for that.I THINK I have one all out,I can picture it laying on the lowbed trailer behind the garage.I have some half frames out there,I let somebody from Kensington take one to remove either a rear or center crossmember,I can't remember which.I haven't noticed if he has brought the rest back yet or not.I'm here most of the time now building the new house,I just leave for supplies.Give me a call,603-608-6140.I can't text.

Yes, I keep seeing your ads over at the classifieds. Of course those M&Ss are upstairs too - but the long term on those has not been good.

And - when one has 100 percent of the first Model A, and 60 percent of the second, and 40 percent of the third - and a whole bunch of parts left over...

You know how it goes. I can almost guarantee we'll talk more formally.

Thanks for the reminder.

I did finally buy a crossmember on Ebay - but only because it was SOOO good.

Pix below.

So do you think Santa will mind if I wrap it up and put it under the Christmas tree with my wife's name on it?

I'm sure she would be surprised...

When I read" Meet A1595727", I thought I would see a car. Then I saw a frame.
Clever. Great start for a car. Good luck!

I've only seen two really good frames come up for sale here in my lifetime and they go for A$1200 - A$1300 now.
