I don,t have access to a Growler so I used my ohm meter on the commutator segments ..180 degrees apart they were about4 ohms ..and about .2 of a ohm segment to segment except one which was .7......and com to rotor was about 2 megs all sound good to me.....put a battery charger and an amp meter on the field coils and it drew about 1 amp ...to me the armature is ok but fields are shorted ....the generator will motor but not too fast

Just wondering if I'am right
