Were pre war Mercs built on the same assembly line as the Fords?.

Default Re: Pre-war Mercs

Prior to the war, they were operated as part of the regular Ford Motor Company. In 1945, as part of the re-tooling for automobile production, Mercury was mated with Lincoln to form the Lincoln Mercury line and they were built in Lincoln plants after that.

As far as being built on the same lines prior to the war, I would have to guess that they had seperate assembly lines.
