1949 ford f1 with h6 and t5
Rebuilding a 49 f1. I bought a rebuilt 6 cyl with a t5. Can't get the clutch to work right. Have a pull slave cylinder from speedway that seems to have air in it that I can't get out. Bench bled numerous times. Can't get more that an 1/2 inch throw in the truck. Get two inches on the bench. Any thoughts on how to get it to work properly. Maybe a different slave cyl.? All help apriciated. Tks Mike

What are the diameters of the master and slave?

Good point that Ross brings up.
First I would open (loosen) the line where it goes into the master cylinder and slowly push the pedal down. Let it up slowly after tightening the line. If that doesn’t, get a helper to pump it really fast and hold it down while you loosen the line at the master cylinder. |
