I looked at the itinerary for the gettysburg tour coming up maybe i am wrong but it seems that folks do not do a lot of driving of their cars on these tours and that it is pretty much about seminars and judging. I have never been to a model a tour and all of the model t tours i have been on were about driving. Do I have a misunderstanding of how these are conducted?

The Gettysburg event is the National Meet. It is different than a National Tour.

The MARC National Tour is typically every other year and 4 days of driving. There are typically an assortment of tours planned that will allow the attendee to drive as much or as little as you wish, probably the average day is around 100 -125 miles. Specifically there is no judging, seminars, swap meet, or meetings. They were started for and intended for those Model Aers that enjoy driving their A.

At the National there are many events. There are some tours. Some are self directed and there is the Grand tour there may be others. At the national meets there are also the swap meet that lasts for about 5 days. There are also some seminars that are very interesting. There is also some judging of Touring class and Fine point. All in all a fun week!!
