40 Ford Electric Cowl Door Motor Conversion
Sorry to all the purists out there.
Any ideas for best motor kit for the 40. Trying not to drill into firewall. Clearance problem when adding under dash AC. Don |

Re: 40 Ford Electric Cowl Door Motor Conversion
Do a little more research. I have a Vintage Air unit up under the dash of my 40 standard. Still have half a glove box and can use the stock vent handle. Painted the air unit the same color as the dash and it barely shows. One vent thru the speaker grille and one on each end under the dash. Controls installed in the stock dash holes with stock style knobs. I did not drill the firewall for mounting the unit or for the hoses. Also have the Newport Engineering electric wiper kit tucked under there to.

Don,when I did a 40 I used a 2 speed truck r.e. motor that moved the lever up & down when it reached the end of travel it would just free wheel on both ends wont tear any thing up,Made brackets to hold it in place worked great Cliff.
