Re: Generator
looks like a later (32-?) model but can be used on an A. one wire is grounded, other goes to cutout.

Re: Generator
earlier generators were rebuilt with the wires in the later 30s so they would work on all the 4 cyl cars, would need closer pictures of all angles to determine each part though it looks like it is A generator with later wire, the original A terminal post could be installed
most of the later —33-34 type had aluminum end housings, rear one with vent holes, and one end of the field housing has a taper take the brush cover off and take some pictures and it will show how much is “rebuilt” |

Re: Generator
It would need the internal field ground and an insulated carry through power terminal kit to be installed for it to match the late Autolite type generator used in 1930/31. It may have been modified during some earlier repair or overhaul. It will fit he model A/B 4-cylinder engines.
The first Autolite types had a ball bearing on the rear support. The later ones had the bushing on the back with the oiler. These were common replacements for all Model A engines. It would need the cut out installed of course. The wired ones were set up to use either a plain cut out or a two stage cut out with current regulator set up. They were oval shaped instead of the usual round shaped cut out relay. Last edited by rotorwrench; 04-07-2023 at 02:46 PM. |

Re: Generator
I spoke with the seller and was told the generator was rebuilt by the Dearborn, Michigan Model A Restorers Club. Was told the tape was for "protection".
