This evening I was working on lapping in some original style valves and a thought ran across my mind. A person has plenty of time to think while lapping in valves...
So I did a search and didn't find anything on it and I thought I would throw it out there for comment. What would be the ramifications of using one, two or more adjustable lifters in and engine that has original style lifters and valves?

If all lifters were properly set it would be fine.

If you have a couple valves that require adjusting, just grind those valves to the proper clearance. If you go to the trouble of removing the can cam to change out those lifters, change them all. I don't see any reason why you can't run some of each just don't see the point either

No ramifications,I would use at least 4,do the exhaust valves, they benefit the most from proper adjustment. The longer they are on the seat the cooler they get.
When your cam is out swap it for a B regrind, the best 100 bucks you ever spent for engine performance.. |

I'm not saying that I want to I'm only throwing it out there for thought. However there are a lot of folks out there that may not necessarily have the money to do a full swap and this looks like it would be a viable option.

It s not recommended to put used lifters on a cam they have not been running on originally. |
