Default Need help deciding 36 Coupe color

I am redoing a 36 Coupe last touched in the sixties. I have all of the paint chips from the era. However, I am not able to make a decision based on the chip size. Google shows me lots of 36 coupe street rods. If you have a 36 3 or 5 window coupe in any of the original shades, could I trouble you to post a favourite photo? In a perfect world, I would paint the car black with poppy red wheels but I’m too fussy to attempt to keep it dust free. Thank you.

I have a book called The Ford Color Book.It was put out by Mike Foot in 1989.It clear outline drawings of all body styles that you can lay over actual full size paint chips.Maybe someone on here has one they would part with.It helped me choose Light Fast Maroon for mine.

What I did is order a qt of color from auto color library based on the paint chips and sprayed several out. $65/quart. Picked bambalino blue to my 36 woodie. Sprayed out a square and looked at it for several weeks to make sure I wanted that wild color! Picked lochaven green for my 41 in the same way.

Thank you. I hope to get other input. I’m drawn towards Tacoma cream or Vineyard green. Anyone have either of these shades on a 36 coupe?

I painted my 36 Club Cabriolet Light fast maroon. I loved it.

I had a 36 3-window that was Vineyard Green. I liked it because it matched my '67 Corvette, which was Goodwood Green (both are a darker green color). I am partial to green because of the Corvette.

I've got a '65 Falcon Sprint in dark green . I love it but it is a dust magnet ! The cream color you speak of would be much easier to keep clean if that matters to you .
I also like the maroon on 36's , along w/Washington blue . it is really a tough call !

I painted my 35 tan, I think it was desert sand or something like that. Very happy with the color. Paul

I just saw a tan color on a new Subaru. It looks like a color that might have come on a an early Ford. Might look real good on a '36. Most automotive paint dealers have a large book with good size samples of various shades of tan, gray, maroon, etc. They have the late formulas for those colors and it makes it easy to have it mixed up. Almost anything with any red pigment (reds, maroons, etc.) will be more expensive. I always like tan on a '36 and on '40's.

Is there any data on the most popular color or colors used back in 1936 for this car.
I like to try to stay with original looking cars. If you don't want dust to show paint light color.

I like a nice gem green, goodwood green would be too dark, but grey or tan is nice too. You asked.

Really like this color, pretty sure it's close to an original color (not for trucks). truck not so much really, chop is too heavy for me... but it is an icon truck in the mod world and done really well. would certainly own it if it came along.

Near as I can tell, Tacoma Cream was not a '36 color except for the pin stripe.

I think this is a nice choice if you go this route.

If you want a light colour I think this Cream works well.

I had a 36 three window in Tan and I hated it..it was ok in the garage but in the sunlight it was too insipid..for me anyhow.

I don't know if they sell the little Fiat 500 over there but they are painted in what looks like the Early Ford colour range, it helps you get a better idea of a colour on the car instead of little chart chips or photos.

Years ago I almost went mad trying to decide on a colour for my 40 deluxe.....I thought about it until I was hallucinating in bed at night...Forty coupes coming out of the wall one after another in all different colours...I always dread picking a colour.
