I have seen these (belts) before you have to put them together one link at a time, very pricing, have you try to remove belt and see if it helps

Ted, I just finished my '30 coupe this spring, and was not happy with the vibration. Checked all the 'obvious' things (fan, muffler, motor mounts) but not that.
Ended up pulling the engine (only 200 miles on the rebuild!) and taking the crankshaft in, straightening it a bit (he said it was about 0.005" out of round at the center) then welding counterweights on it, re-balancing crank by itself, and then re-balancing it an an assembly with the flywheel and pressure-plate attached.
Lastly, I spent EXTRA time shimming and re-shimming the flywheel housing at those two 'ears' by the accelerator bracket, trying to get the lowest possible run-out there. Couldn't get it perfect, but at or below the Ford Service Bulletin specs.... After reassembly, the vibration/noise is improved. There is still vibration, it IS a four-banger, and there are two obnoxious 'nodes' at about 35 and 45mph (I have a 3.54:1 rear-end, so would be a little slower speed for original ratio gears). But when I am cruising at 50-55mph, it is smooth as silk and quiet as long as it is under a little load (flat or uphill). If I am coasting downhill a bit, it gets noisy again, though some of that is tranny, and switching to slightly heavier "600W" lube (Lubriplate SPO288 instead of the standard 140W/STP blend from Brattons) seemed to quiet that mode down a little bit too. My recommendation is to have someone who has a well-restored 'A drive it with you and listen. One of the guys from our club (Dave from MN) came out to my house and helped me with that, we jacked it up and put it through the gears while jacked up, with him laying underneath and listening to tranny, U-joint, etc... and trying to eliminate all the 'easy' causes of vibration before resorting to pulling the engine. Good luck!

Ted, this isn't worth starting a new thread for, but I was just wondering if you guys have to put up with this ethanol crap in your gas in Australia?

Same question for Germany and other countries?
