Default 1933 oil pan on a 36 engine

I am putting a 33 oil pan 36 engine, The 33 pan obviously does not have the crankcase vent built into it. Will this create a problem?

Use the 33 gasket and that should work . DO NOT use the pipe that you slip in before you put the fuel pump stand on . I'm not talking about the one that is on the stand itself - just the big one that fits into the raised tower around the fuel pump bushing . Take a good look at this & you will understand the reason for not using it with a non-vented pan .

Are you talking about the oil fill baffle?

I have just done this to 34 ford using a 36 engine with a 34 pan, using the 34 pan gasket, removing the fuel pump stand oil baffle. I also installed a new m19 oil pump with a 8rt oil pickup tube. The tube had to be heated and bent up a little,so as not to be tight to the bottom of the oil pan.I did this with the knowledge of DAVID J. & WALT DUPONT.The results is great no problems.EPW

Won't a 33 pan on a 36 engine leave the vent tube at the right front of the engine partially open and make it pour out a lot of oil? Or is that a 36 pan on a 33 engine? Hey, I'm old and my memory ain't what it used to be. LOL

48-6756 . Listed as " Tube-ventilator-assy-rear" This goes under the fuel pump stand and slips into the cast in socket around your fuel pump bushing . It's intended to direct fresh air into the crankcase so it doesn't just go out the vent pipe in the RF of the valve chamber . If using a non vented pan it will direct ALL BLOWBY to exit from the crankcase straight up the pipe or out the rear seal area . Lots more whipped up oil in the crankcase compared to the valve chamber . 33-34 blocks do not have this cast socket so the tube is only a baffle in that application . Actually 33-34 didn't even have this . Note the "48" prefix on the part #.

36 pan on a 33 engine causes the "pour out a lot of oil " thing . The vent needs to be plugged on the pan .
