Default Roadster Door Alignment

Please see pics, doors on my roadster will not align evenly. Drivers door has nice gap with rear quarter. Passenger door has gap that gets wider at bottom, almost 3/4 of any inch. Body is bolted to frame with wood blocks in place. Any comments or suggestions are appreciated. Thanks.

Were the subrails in good shape? Have they been repaired or had the crossmembers replaced?

I suspect the quarterpanel sides have spread out some where the doors latch. You may need to carefully cut the beltrail in a couple of place on the curved part and with a long pipe clamp pull the quarterpanel sides inward (where the door latches are). The other possibility is to bend the door out at the top. You will probably need to do both to get a proper door alignment. The body blocks don't do much for the kind of alignment problems you have.

I don't know if this will help, but I'll tell you my roadster experience. When I first got my car, the hood gapped at the rear bottom. I decided to try straightening the frame with the body on. I tied the frame down front and back on one side and jacked under the rear motor mounts. Worked like a charm. I used the hood fit as a gage. When I finished, lo and behold the bottom gap on my doors was gone too.

Thanks to all for replys.

Roadster62, in reponse to your question, the subrails have been replaced from the front of the wheel well back.
