Default 1933 Paint inside windshield

when I open windshield to replace rubber I noticed some rust inside the area that the windwhield closes into. What color is usually painted there? what is the safest way to remove the rust there?

If I am reading your post properly, it should be body color.

It depends on how extensive the corrosion is. If it is only light pitting, the corrosion can be removed with light grit blasting then treating the area with a conversion coat like Ospho or mild phosphoric acid solution to convert the surface to an iron phosphate. If your lucky, you can san the corrosion off with a good wet or dry sand paper. The area can be taped off with abrassive resistant tape to shield the rest of the car's finish but it is a dirty messy job and would require a lot of prep work to remove the windshield and protect the interior as well. A corrosion resistan primer should be applied before paint touch up in order to prevent reoccurance.
