probably easiest repair for the distrib ear is replace casting/core.
I would have trouble with alignment and positioning depending on the amount broken off. why mess with it? Bob

I have brazed and also silver soldered broken ears, both are very successful.

I have another one that the broken ear is missing, so I'll build it up using an oxy/acc torch and cast iron rod with blue flux. So far the only place I've found the cast iron gas welding rod is the welding shop in Watertown, S.D.

I would find a good casting but don't throw away the broken one,it could be fixed and used someday
