I never said that you were not qualified or you did not know what you were looking at... I was just responding to the misinformation of your statement..

Since you're very familiar with the judging process I would assume you have seen a senior AACA judging sheet and the areas it covers on an automobile... It's more than paint and interior and not from a far....

Having put a Model A through a junior, senior last year and a grand national this year, having 3 completely different groups of judges at each meet I can say they are made up of very knowledgable Model A folks that know what they are looking at...I wouldn't be suprised if many are involved in fine point also..

This particular coupe in question won the senior in 2004, many things could have been altered or changed on the vehicle since then, as well as the cars you have seen with improper hardware etc. bearing a senior badge..

How many times have we seen a senior car at a show that's won the title many years ago and the car is F**D, this doesn't mean it was in this condition when it won. Many cars had a rough life after the senior win its very sad...
Yes this car is not perfect but has been pretty well preserved since the win and u can see the owner is anal about driving it..

All other points being equal which will get a higher score, a Model A with a modern high-gloss paint or one with original lustre paint?

A couple of years ago I saw an ad for a Victoria for sale from the same seller. It too was a very nice looking car and described in very much the same way. I think the video is still on youtube wth others he has offered for sale. I thought he was a collector who only liked the best.

Probably the same reason (in California anyway) you are required to turn the wheels to the curb when parked, even with a modern.

And mistakes happen. I came out of my house ~6 months ago and my Town Sedan was GONE!! I FREAKED OUT! I ran down my driveway (which is almost flat) to the front of the house and there it was, sitting in my neighbors front yard!! Thankfully it didn't hit anything. I swear I put the Parking brake on. Honest. It did make a slight turn and missed a tree but came to rest in my neighbor's Azaleas. (Whew! scared the heck out of me!)

Now when I park I use one of those wheel chocks that Harbor Freith carries. Cheep insurance, I won it in an "Opportunity Drawing" at a Club Meeting.

My two lady friend passengers handle the particulars.....the one on the outside gets out and uses a foot as a chock, the one in the middle gets out and opens the gate, the procedure is reversed when I arrive on the other side of the gate!!!!

I would think most folks probably do that, but it would not take a steep hill to overcome the compression if the E brake had an issue..

My left hand service brake handle is quite easy to bump and kick off when getting into my truck. Made for a very interesting ride off my trailer one time a few years ago. Don't think anyone witnessed it but if they had they would probably had a chuckle to see a guy ride down the ramps with his butt sticking out a half opened door.
I keep a rubber wheel chock in place when ever I am at a show so just in case it get bumped by one of any number of people I let sit in my truck during the show. Very cheap insurance against unwanted movement.

Yes i know of this car . did the pin striping back in 2003. Car has been sitting for the last 2 years due to owners wife's health and then his. Both died last year 2 weeks apart. Daughter locked up the place and did not care what happened to the car until it came time to sell it. Smell of mildew was in the car. BODY is solid but chassis was done poorly. A lot of repro, parts that's why i told my Godfather the car went as far award wise as it can go. A.A.C.A. It's a nice coupe but has a few flaws and he's a good salesman never to announce the possible defects, I did notice a bit of smoke but it did seem to run well, wheels looked more like Straw unless colors were off.

I feel it was worth the money...repo sheet metal, mildew smell and all... I just don't like the guy was not honest and made up a whole false charade .... Nothing wrong with saying the owners passed away and he picked it up..
