Re: This just in, Bonneville info
Congratulations Ronnie. I could have never dreamed, in my lifetime a flathead break 200, let alone 219.787 MPH!!
Can you give us basic engine specs?

Re: This just in, Bonneville info
well done to all and as Ronnie has stated on many occasions He may be at the top and receive the honours there's a whole pyramid of people that work tirelessly to support the racers and see that these events even take place [there probably working on 2025 as this is written ] and its to these people we should all say thankyou as without their efforts these events would not take place and these achievement's would remain in the darkness of time So to all thankyou and well done all

Thanks Coopman. I'm gonna give it a go later and if I can't get it I'll send them to you.

Re: This just in, Bonneville info
Floyd Lippincotte jr. was a fueler driver back in the sixties. His real name was Bob Muravez. His dad was against him racing so he ran under the assumed name. He drove the Freight Train among others. Anyway, he was at Speedweek this year and fell in love with my Tank. He's the one who took these pictures.

Re: This just in, Bonneville info
My previous best was 169.580 at the 2018 event. I hit what I believed to be an aerodynamic brick wall. I got rid of the V8-60 front axle and buggy spring and hairpins and built a straight axle and put all of steering mess in the aero shadow of the axle and built carbon fiber fairings and wheel discs.

Re: This just in, Bonneville info
I ran 176 mph on Tuesday in thefirst quarter of the third mile which qualified me for the long course. I also ran 180 average over the entire third mile. On Wednesday I was able to run the long course and ran to the four mile. I have a 15 gallon water tank and wanted to see what the temperature acted like with an additional mile rather than two. The car felt better the faster I went. That pleased me.

Re: This just in, Bonneville info
My daughter and the other fellow helping me run had to leave after that so it was just KC (My girlfriend) and me. On the final pass I had a problem with the shifter coming off the truck and ended up in high gear right away. As a consequence, all of my speeds on the timing slip were about 5 miles slower in comparison to the previous run but I still went 5 miles faster in the 4 mile.
i'm a happy man. I still need 12 miles for the record but I see it coming. I'm giving away 40 inches for the class and am running 1.6 intakes and 1.5 exhaust valves. Remember this is unblown on gas so I think I'm doing something right. Wayno

Re: This just in, Bonneville info
.
Wayno .....This is a very sano and well-detailed tank, for sure. The 'glass' nose reminded me of a little known version of tank-shaped pods that were used on SOME P-38s to carry stretcher patients, so I've read. I sure do like all the windows that you have incorporated. TWO 'unforgettable' fast rides here, whether up high, or down to earth. DD . |

Re: This just in, Bonneville info
"Wayno" - great car; Lakesters have always been my favorite type of Bonneville/Dry Lakes cars, especially bellytanks. Coopman , you continue to amaze me. It seems that you can put an aircraft twist on anything.
