What does this tail light bracket fit?
I looked in the judging standards and did not see this bracket. I took it off of a drum tail light assembly that I have. If looks like it would work the same as the pickup bracket. Just wondering if anyone has seen one of these brackets. Thanks

Re: What does this tail light bracket fit?
It's neither Pickup at least from 1928-37 as they used the same bracket, 38 into the 40s used a flat bracket.
I don't think it's AA either, at least not one I have seen. My guess would be 30's era Ford one ton truck or some oddball application like a school bus etc. |

Does anyone have one of the tail light brackets above with a part number on it?

I'm pretty sure this one has been discussed as an early station wagon use, later replaced by the slingshot version. The "other" Model A site may have discussed it. It may have even been used on the earliest coupe. If either or all are the case shouldn't it show in the early parts list? Joe K

1928Fordman,
Was the drum part of the taillight you removed a 1928 style? Also, can you make out a part number on the bracket? I have never seen a bracket like you have before. Rusty Nelson |

Re: What does this tail light bracket fit?
Not too add more confusion!
I've had this in my possession for 3 weeks, it's 6" overall, no part number and I'm about 99% sure I know what it fits. It's earlier than the tail light bracket posted above....I believe. |

Re: What does this tail light bracket fit?
Hello Bob,
Looks like the prefix is "AA"? I think there are some brackets missing out of the JS...and they seem too be "commercial"! What is the part number? Side view and length? Dudley btw...forgot too add that my bracket has the "O" with the "M" in the center, foundry mark. I can also see it on the bracket from this original post, at the top of the page. |

Re: What does this tail light bracket fit?
Dudley, I just have the picture no other information. Neil Wilson posted the picture
on the AA board so maybe he has some info on it. Bob |

Re: What does this tail light bracket fit?
Getting back to the original question at the top of the thread. The bracket pictured is A-13470-A and it was used on the A panel delivery, bus (what ever that was), and pickup as per the Ford engineering drawing.
This should be added to the A brackets in the JS. My early '29 A panel delivery had this bracket (see second picture). There was an AF-13470-A for RHC (right hand control) A's which could be used to have a right hand tail lamp. It is not for an AA. |
