Default 1933/34 exhaust question

Was the exhaust clamp/connection at the joint on the rear cross member fixed to the cross member or just a clamp for joining the 2 pieces of pipe together at this point.
There is a hole on my chassis at this point and wondered if this is what it is for?
Thanks.
Graham.

It was a combination clamp and bracket attached to the frame.

Thanks David, I have a clamp that appears to be the right one so will fit it up. Hopefully it will eliminate what may be a rattle problem against the chassis in that area. Easier to do now than when a few miles have been run up.

Graham, Never truly easy as it means a trip underneath, but worse once the pipes start to sort of weld themselves together with the help of oxidation and the heat/cool down cycles. Where the bracket attaches to the frame a rubber insulating washer about 3/8" thick was installed originally to further minimize the chance of rattles/vibration.

David, Managed to pull the tailpipe out today and fit up the correct mount fixed to the back cross member.
Has eliminated the rattle problem.
Thankfully 0 miles on the motor so everything came apart easy which was a relief.
