Default "arched tie rod"

The September/October Model A News contains a treatise by Jim Thomas about the Ford Dealer & Service Field Magazine. In the middle spread is a two page chart reviewing features of the 1930 Model A. I was doing a walk around, checking off the benefits of the new model. I was amused by the "flat snap-on" description of the rad. cap and fuel cap. Then I came to an arrow that pointed in the general direction of the radiator. The call out indicates "ARCHED TIE ROD."
What's that? A bent tie rod? Should the "arch" be up? ... front? ... down?
Very curious.
I hope it is true and there is some good reason for it -- so I won't have to try to straighten the one I'm about to hang on the front end we are sprucing up for our Victoria.
It ain't bent. The "arch" is Ford design!
Case closed!

The 28-29 headlamp bar, or fender tie rod, was straight from lamp to lamp. The new 30 headlamp bar, or fender tie rod, was arched gracefully to match the graceful fenders and cowl band.
