Default B head water pump

My model A speedster has a B head. The water pump and water outlet are built together. My question is where can I install the water temperature bulb for a water temperature gauge.?

I don't have a pic or link to, but they make a tap off the top radiator hose for the temp gauge pickup.

Maybe someone can link you.

If you have the tools/skill, you can drill and tap a water temp gauge on the left side that is not in the way of things.

A little expensive but great for a Model A head. He has a Model B (1932) head.

Why not put it in the top hose or even the top tank? It's not difficult to make a fitting to hold it and seal through the side of the hose and easy for a radiator shop to put one in the tank.

Why not use lower outlet Brattons No. 12120 drilled for temp probe or heater connection.

Because that would show the temp of the water coming OUT of the radiator where it should be at least 20° cooler.

I would suggest using the hose type fittings, the B pumps are not a dime a dozen like the Model A ones. I would not risk damaging the body of the casting by drilling a hole in it. I know there are guys that might have a few of them that are hordes that will pipe up and say they are easy to find but never seem to let go of the ones they have.
