Default 50 Merc manifold on 59 AB engine

Can I use a 50 merc. manifold with a four bolt chevy carb on a 59 AB engine that is in a 46 ford coupe.???

What to know about the fuel pump??
What to know about the generator mounting??
And what to know about other spooke's hiding in this job.??

The manifold is an aluminum unit that I bought off from eBay, from a good guy in Canada some years ago..
Any help I can get here will much appreciated.

The '50 merc intake will fit , but uses fewer bolts to hold it down. Use the 59A fuel pump stand, fuel pump & pushrod & either plug or use the oil fill tube & road draft tube. the generator fits as is. Not a big deal.

Bolt pattern matches for those bolts that are used...late manifold uses fewer than the early, but no problem there. You will lack the locating pin holes like all late engines.
Fuel pump platform is correct height for the longer of the 2 '35-48 push rods but I do not know if the '48 type pump setup will clear the runners...I suspect not. I think bottom of pump will hit...if so, easiest way is probably late pump mount and late pushrod with lower end turned down to 3/8. Late forward breather is located differently, but at least is near the vent stack and should function.

The fuel pump will not clear, needs a twist... On one car, I made an adapter plate and used countersunk bolts to get a 60 degree turn. I used parts from two three-part push rods to lengthen for the thickness of the plate. On The A-V8, I made a fuel pump stand to clear the throttle linkage and get the rotation (of the pump) to clear the intake.

If you are using the Chevy carb, you may have to open up the throttle bores in the intake to match the carb bores.

The aluminum Ford Canada intakes used all 20 bolts until the end of production in '54. ..B.
