Can anyone comment on this part in the Snyder's catalog?

my notes show:
• (April ’28): matching cutouts were made on top & bottom boards to accept a snap-in steel plate allowing access to clutch housing hand hole cover thus facilitating lubrication of clutch release bearing

i do not know where i got this info (i.e. not in JS, possibly a Doc K aricle) and do not know inclusive dates.

Here is the back of the original floor boards on an E28....

It is mentioned on page 11-3 of the Judging Standards.
"In May 1928 an angle snap-in cover was added in front of the
shifter and was used on the remainder of the vehicles with a
left hand brake."

Yes I see that.. I guess I did not pay to much heed as it is May and I have a Early Jan, car..
