Default 1946 Mercury exhaust system source?

Who has the best exhaust system components for a '46 Mercury? The only place I've found that carries any of the larger pieces is Mac's.

Thanks in advance.

Check with Waldron's, waldronexhaust.com. They do a lot of vintage car exhaust systems.

George, along the line of what you posted, I'm curious. My recollection is that the engine in a 46 Merc, sits in the same place as in a 46 Ford, in relation to the firewall and all points rearward. Is that so? And, if so, wouldn't the exhaust system for the Merc be the same as for a Ford? I don't really know, and I'm just speculating...

i think the head pipes are different because the manifolds dump in a different spot.

I think the Mercury caris longer than the Ford. I had the drive
shaft and rear from a 1948 Mercury and it was 8 or so inches
longer. G.M.

I think you'll find that the extra length is due to shifting the front axle forward, the drive train is the same dimensions on both ford and Mercury.

The added length of the Mercury is forward of the cowel.
The motor and drive train is is in the same location as a Ford. The difference happens with the steering gear, about 4 inches more forward than a Ford, which creates a different interference for the dual side pipe if installing dual exaust.
Single, stock exhaust system with cross over pipe is the same for 42-48 Ford or Merc.

I have a Waldron dual side exhaust pipe for a Mercury if anyone is interested.
