Default Is an Exhaust Gas Analyzer reading changed by having Ethanol in the "Gas"?

I have an Exhaust Gas Analyzer from 1969.

Is an Exhaust Gas Analyzer reading (percentage of CO) changed by having Ethanol in the "Gas" when compared to a reading with non-ethanol gas from 1969 ?

Thinking out loud here:
I suppose that there is so much other different crap in the fuel now that it would be hard to figure out what change is doing what to the CO readings.

It is claimed that the ethanol "oxygenates" the fuel ... does that make mixture leaner I suppose?

"Five cars are burning Super Shell gasoline with Platformate, five are burning the same gas without Platformate."

My Coupe had a "Tiger in the tank" provided by Humble Oil Company !!!

Yes I have run my car on the loaded emission test machine, both on regular gas and later on 10% ethonal gas, no changes except the gas
On regular gas my closed gav setting gave 4% CO
On 10%ethonal gas the closed gav settings gives 0.05% (and low power), changing spark timing didn't have much effect on the emissions, the exhaust manifold did get red though
If you want I could dig up the printouts
Reduced emissions , and slightly less fuel mileage, I still get over 20 though

When they add AMAZING ingredients to gas, you "Probably" get 1 DROP, for each 5 GALLONS of gas---LOL--LOL---

Kurt,

Thank you for the good info.

1. It sounds like you are testing device is a "dynamometer" type emissions machine?

My meter only tests CO statically ... no way to test under load.

Yes I would be interested in the printouts.

I will send a PM.
