Heater Control Valve & Hose Connections.
Have a 50 Ford 8-BA V-8. I think my heater and control valve hoses are not installed correctly. Anyone have a picture (worth a thousand words) of the correct connections? I'm getting no heat and the control valve is new. Thanks.

I don't know if they're the same but here are pictures of a '53 hose setup >

Re: Heater Control Valve & Hose Connections.
heater cores are simple enough to diagnose. you got a new valve, do you actually see the lever moving full open and full closed? generally, water goes in the bottom and out the top so as not to trap air, which they still can. squeeze the hose a few times while running and try to listen for bubbles, and make sure the water is going thru it by feeling the hose, should be hotter going in than coming out with the fan on, and if really cold on the return , its not circulating, as in plugged up core or valve not opening

Re: Heater Control Valve & Hose Connections.
Although a '47, coolant in my heater system flows like the others describe here .... from outlet on passenger side head, thru heater core, then thru the control valve into the water pump on the passenger side. My control valve body has a directional flow arrow on it with the word "Shut" at one extreme. When I flush the engine's cooling system, I disconnect the hoses from the heater core and spray water from my garden hose thru the core to flush it out.

Thanks to all who replied. I think I have it figured out now. Differences between 49 and 50 had me confused. Thanks Toby for the PDF file.

Here's a picture I like to look at when trying to remember what my 50 should look like. Don't know who to credit:

Re: Heater Control Valve & Hose Connections.
I just got my heater back in this evening. Don't have a blower motor yet, but at least I'm getting those gaping firewall holes covered up.
