Just bought an all original 26 ford 1 ton
I've heard stories of this truck from the local old timers. Bought new in 26 and stay on this same family farm until this past Saturday it was delivered to our place. My granddad had seen it a few years back at in a local parade and said he had never seen one that original with no rust or rot and it's complete plus my granddad had seen it running and driving about a year ago.
Well my family and I roll into this local car gather on valentines night and the first thing I notice is this truck sitting out with a for sale sign on it. I'm into old buses so I ask a older gentleman I know and said what's up with that old truck. He said it's the all original one that's never been up for sale. They had all the paperwork, title, and registrations up till about 1952. Plus old parts books and some other stuff in a bag. They were asking $10,000 for it and I thought that was fair but was told that was high for it. So I walk up and over heard a couple gentle talking to the orig owners son when I over heard them say they where interested. Well I called my granddad and said well that unicorn is out and he said what do mean I said I'm looking at that all original ford truck and it's for sale. He told me a number and I then went to the owners and ask about price and made a counteroffer in which they accepted. So the truck was delivered the next day and they said they had the bed stakes in the barn and would check on the original licsence plates too. It's looks as if the motor has never been removed from the truck. The orig key, coils, all lights are still work. Granddad is waiting on a fan belt then we'll fire it up. I'll update when get it putting down the road. Hopefully I didn't pay to much for it but how often do you find 1 owner car that are 88 yrs old that still run on its numbers matching motor. Thanks Jim, Not sure how to post multiple pics so I guess one at a time. Here's a pic of title and other old stuff it came with. Also had a cool 4way rim wrench in it with the jack.

Off topic; that VW Bus looks longer? Has it been extended?

No it's just the pre63 deluxes had the windows all the way around so it gives it that look. Those are my favorite have 4 buses just like it and about 10 others. Always collecting them. Just happened to stumble across the 26 ford.

I had a 62 with the sun roof and alpine windows, just did not remember it looking that long. Could be the angle of the photos. Same colors as mine was too.

The TT looks great. I'm not one to suggest a lot of "improvements", which usually aren't, but I would make sure the windshield is safety glass.

That's a really great truck and a really great story. Not too often that the 2nd owned buys it in the next century.
