Hmmm...does not compute. I don't see where adding series resistance would work. The LEDs that I got are super bright when tested directly at the 6 volt battery on my '41 but are dim when installed in the brake light socket.
Have not tried running a direct wire ground back to the tail/brake light housing yet but I anticipate that would be a solution for max lumens. The other thought I had is perhaps the hydraulic brake switch has high resistance.

Not sure if your taillight lenses are glass or plastic. The 50/14 cp could be a bit too warm a plastic lens, if they are on for an extend period of time. That having been said, that is what I used before I got the LED's

ledlight's response, is very interesting, since I bought my led bulbs from them and they work perfectly, without any "load equalizers"!

I wonder if the load equalizer is not just the extra load you need to make a regular signal flasher work as the leds do not have enough draw to make a standard flasher work.

Did you try to hook them up to a battery, directly to see if they worked? Just wondering, if it is the bulb, or the socket?

The load resistor, is only a turn signal issue, not a basic function issue.

I ordered mine 2 weeks ago and they wont be here until mid-October !! From China of course. You'd think these guys would stock "some" of them here. I'll advise if they are any good when I finally get them.
